What is the opportunity?

You will be working with Finance IT Team at RBC. The team delivers scalable applications for our internal Finance and Risk business partners.

There is on-going strategic reporting solution to be built on a modern cloud platform using the latest micro-services architecture.

As a Senior TSA, you will work within a team of BA, QA, architect, developers, an autonomous team delivering applications for use by our internal business partners.

We are looking for top notch software leaders who are great team players and obsessive about the quality of their team work and delivered service.

The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, have an affinity to being a leader, and have experience working in agile projects.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about delivering a best-in-class financial software experience to our internal business partners.

What you will do?

  • Working within a team through the full lifecycle software development from inception to delivery, through production operations, including coding, code-
  • reviews, testing and preparing release package for implementation.

  • Develop both new applications and improve our existing ones in performance, capability, and reliability.
  • Employ best practices in utilizing a broad platform of technologies within a cloud based micro services environment
  • Identify technical and business opportunities to take advantage of cross project knowledge, best practices and reusability to expedite projects
  • Think through challenging and interesting problems and solve them with your team.
  • Coach and help develop the team and RBC One technology community
  • Function as in-house consultant / expert for resolution of complex technical issues. Research emerging trends / best practices and determine implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategy
  • Participate in peer code reviews and technical meetings
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must Have

  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with : Java, Spring, Springboot, Restful Services, SOAP, Cloud Deployment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other RDBMS.
  • Experience in full lifecycle software development, SDLC including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing and value of metrics and incremental delivery.
  • Experience working in Agile projects
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (Jenkins, UrbanCode)
  • Experience in developing and automating unit test cases
  • Nice To Have

  • Experience in big-data software
  • Hands-on experience with Angular, Ember, Vue.js
  • Experience building software for the financial services industry banking, insurance or investments
  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack
  • Working experience in one or more of : large-scale systems and / or parallel or distributed systems; web API design; micro-
  • service architecture; Kafka; Microservices; modern scale-out databases.
