Description Located in Toronto (GTA), your role as a detail oriented Service Technician will be to provide field service expertise to our client's customer base.

As a key member of the Company and Customer Service Team, you will be reporting to their Service Technician Coordinator who is located in our North American Operation center in Brossard.

The desired candidate will have the following responsibilities, skill sets, and attributes :

Responsibilities :

  • The ability to perform installation, installation supervision, commissioning and service on our pedestrian turnstile and vehicle barrier gate equipment at various Canadian locations with a Primary focus in Toronto, ON
  • Ensure that all logistic requirements are fulfilled when going to a customer site
  • Provide Customer Level product related training on installation, troubleshooting and the equipment maintenance both on site during and, following the installation which may be one on one, in a group or in a class room setting as needed.
  • Work closely with the local sales account manager to ensure that all project requirements and specifics that may impact the work are understood, so desired results will be obtained.
  • Ensure that all Client Systems equipment is fully functional and ready for warrantee sign off before leaving the site.
  • Actively involved in completing and preparing commissioning / inspection / preventive maintenance check lists and reports, as needed.
  • Ensure that customer is satisfied with the work done, obtain work order signs off before leaving the site
  • Available and willing to help support the telephone Help Desk Service; based on a rotating schedule with the other Technicians
  • Maintain all tools and resources in good working condition and manage replacements, as needed.
  • Maintain vehicle in good condition and respect dealer?s maintenance schedule
  • Skills :

  • Must be a strong people person and have the ability to listen to and understand the situation at hand from the customer point of view.
  • Able to perform a wide range of activities including day-to-day tech support, customer training, and interaction.
  • Able to work under stress.
  • Able to lift and position heavy equipment.
  • Functionally autonomous and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Team worker, fast learner, resourceful and goal driven.
  • Methodical, meticulous, and well organized as well as resourceful to perform the task at hand.
  • As a front line representative of the company, always maintain a + years of experience, detail oriented, and well-groomed appearance.

  • 5 years of experience in similar job capacity preferred.
  • Electro mechanical background with Software Automation Equipment knowledge a plus.
  • Understanding of IT and network basics to include; Basic networking, IP, servers, and control panel interfaces.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Specifically ability to use Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver license required.
  • Valid passport needed.
  • Available to work overtime and with limited previous notice.
  • Working conditions

  • 40 hours a week- Monday ? Friday with frequent weekend and night work.
  • Overtime occasionally required.
  • Finish the work on time (may require overtime)
  • Occasional through Canada travel required, approximately 50 to 75% of the time. May be required to travel to the United States (no work permit required).
