Be responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of assigned food and packaging products at the best cost and support the promotion planning, inventory management and distribution for a fast food franchise with franchisees right across Canada.
Negotiate with suppliers for each assigned product which includes the development of the best landed product cost at each assigned distribution center, reviewing, evaluating, and recommending suppliers in order to manage best overall supply base in Canada.
Bring your food sector background in various commodities such as proteins - chicken, beef, beverages - colas, coffee, and packaging (cups, cartons, boxes, wraps), Finalize and enter assigned product pricing into the system.
Develop and implement objectives for various categories and prepare / present purchasing strategies to support the negotiation of recommendations for supply agreements.
Negotiate, recommend, and draft commercial terms of agreement for new and existing products. Monitor cost variances and identify opportunities as it relates to differentials between Canadian and U.
S. sources. Establish and monitor vendor capacity / distribution capabilities to ensure that all quality, cost and service expectations are met.
and support the franchise network across Canada. Manage inventory levels and ensure timely distribution of new product rollouts and successful depletion of existing products through the creation and execution of project timelines, supplier production plans and distributor purchasing and inventory management plans.
Manage relationships with distribution centres and third party carriers. Review distribution methods and logistical costs for assigned products to ensure optimal freight costs to the distribution centres.
Requirement Note :
Ideal candidate brings 5 - 8+ years of relevant work experience and / or a four year degree. (Master's is a plus.) Strong negotiation skills and contract management, excellent written and oral communication skills, superior analytical skills, customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Identify problems and develop solutions, detailed oriented and very organized.
Able to manage many projects simultaneously, experienced in fast paced, dynamic business environment and computer literate in MS OFFICE (Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Fluency in another language beyond English is a plus (such as French.)
This position brings a good base salary with bonus upwards to 20% and RRSP contribution.
