Why is this role important?
The Enterprise Data, Analyst under the direction of the Director / Senior Director is responsible for supporting data governance and data advisory activities across the Enterprise.
In this role, you will provide data advisory and governance expertise to projects as well as day to day operations ensuring that data is treated as a corporate asset.
The Specialist will work with business partners as well as IT to ensure a high level of data quality with the objective of improving operations and mitigating risk.
What You'll Do :
Apply data governance best practices to LCL projects and business processes
Perform data analysis, profiling and discovery to support strategic business initiatives Assist in root cause analysis and driving resolution of critical production data quality issues as needed
Document data flow models aligned with relevant business processes which includes the creation, use, updating and deletion of data
Develop a data governance solution which include policies, rules and metrics
Develop data governance reports and dashboards as needed leveraging data quality tools to track data quality against desired business metrics
Actively review data management to proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality
Collaborate with IT and business partners to develop strategies to automate data quality management by embedding data quality controls in critical business processes
Develop and maintain an enterprise data dictionary which includes business definitions Collaborate with IT DNA in the analysis, development and delivery of data governance solutions
Apply relevant change management principles to data governance projects
Deliver training as needed to business stakeholders on data governance policies, data governance operating model and methodology
Provide status updates on a periodic basis to project managers
Demonstrate Loblaw CORE values to deliver results
What You'll Need :
2-4 years related work experience
Post-secondary education in business, information technology management, engineering or computer science
Experience working within a project environment
Understanding of data governance and design
Advanced Microsoft office skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and workshops
Ability to effectively negotiate for a successful outcome
Strong project management skills
Knowledge of SAP, data quality tools (e.g. DSP or Informatica) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Microstrategy or SAS) is an asset
