All students applying for student positions at CNL must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of their work term.

Exceptions will be made for students who require a work term in order to graduate.

Students must submit a resume, cover letter, copy of an up-to-date transcript and three reference letters (two personal reference letters that have known you more than 5 years and are not relatives.

And, one professional reference letter from an individual who has supervised your work) by the posting close date of May 27, 2018 to ensure consideration for student employment in the first round of interviews.

Positions will remain posted until June 10, 2018 to allow for a second round of candidates / interviews, if required. The employment period generally runs from the beginning of September to the end of December.

This site has no public transportation access. Students must have access to reliable transportation.


The Corporate Communications department at CNL is a fast-paced environment where you will be involved in a wide range of activities.

You will be supporting the Communications team with a focus on internal and external communications.Some article writing and project support will be required.


  • Assisting in the representing of CNL at scheduled internal and external Corporate Communications events through the direct participation in scheduling activity, event pre-
  • work, set-up, and event participation

  • Draft articles and content for newsletters and myCNL bulletins
  • Drafting of posters and other communications material for internal and external audiences
  • Support to Communications team members in the execution of their responsibilities
  • Contribution to employee communications, recognition events, site tours, and limited general office support

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Communications or Public Relations / Affairs field of study
  • Must be confident, tactful, highly motivated, reliable, trustworthy, and discrete when dealing with highly confidential information
  • Must possess a professional attitude and be able to behave in a professional manner
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and communicate effectively with all staff and levels of management, external stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of computers with the ability to understand, use, apply, combine and adapt to a variety of software.
  • In particular, must have a high working level knowledge of MS-Outlook, MS Office Suite (particularly MS-Word and EXCEL), as well as office equipment such as laser and colour printers, FAX machines, photocopiers, computer projection equipment, and scanners

  • Must have some experience or training in professional or journalistic writing for both internal and external audiences;
  • and / or design and manipulation of photos and graphic elements using common software in the design and layout of posters and other media
