You : The Senior Technology Consultant is part of a National Consulting team of technical experts who provides engineering and design fulfilment support for Hosted and Premise customer solutions including developing, reviewing, testing, operationalizing, and customizing new services for Business customers, key focus is on supporting the TELUS Integrated Solutions Delivery (ISD) team for Collaboration Services (CS).
Our Solutions : Encompass complex Data WAN, Hosted and Premise IP telephony equipment; providing technical support for Cisco HCS collaboration and conferencing solutions.
Our Strategy : Your expertise will be instrumental for realizing organizational objectives of regional empowerment, managing central governance and strategy, and providing an integrated national delivery model.
What You will do :
Act as the technical consulting prime for specific projects assigned to you
Ensure the design of the services can be delivered by the operations teams in an efficient, effective and consistent manner
Ensure that business support system requirements are identified, clarified and communicated to appropriate partners internal within TELUS or external vendors;
this will include working closely with TELUS Operations and Application Development teams or external vendors to ensure clarity on the service design and business requirements for the targeted support systems
Ensure delivery of the system functionality as prescribed so the services can be delivered and supported as planned; this will include planning, prescribing and reviewing test results and working with TELUS BT&O or external vendor to resolve defects and define change requests
Support the Business Analyst(s) assigned to the project, to provide the process, tools, training or training requirements, and any technical documentation, to be used by the operation teams to deliver the service
Complete service audits, E2E testing, and or pilots for new services or existing services which use new platforms
Support the Business Analyst to ensure accuracy of impact and readiness assessments for the operation teams
The ideal profile includes : Extensive understanding of :

LAN / WAN / Wireless / Voice / ACD / Virtualization / Storage / Video / AV / HCS technologies
Knowledge of Cisco Communications hardware / software including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connections, Cisco Expressway, Cisco Instant Messaging and Presence, Cisco Contact Centre Express, Cisco Unified Attendant Console, Cisco 4300 ISR, Cisco VG310, 2900 ISR, Emergency Responder, Prime Collaboration Provisioning, VOSS, Kurmi
Knowledge of Operations, Administration Management and Security practices and protocols including familiarity with access technologies including ADSL2+, VDSL, bonded T1, fibre, MPLS, PRI, NNI, SIP trunks
Strong LAN skillset on Cisco LAN / WLAN Catalyst, Nexus platforms
Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective presentation and networking skills
Proficient in the use and application of PC-based applications (i.e. MS Office suite : Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Ability to influence a cross-functional team which includes team members from different internal organizations in the establishment of service standards and operational readiness for Business and Wholesale services
Additional Professional Designations and Experience :
University degree or technical diploma or equivalent in a telecommunications related field
Cisco CCIE, CCNP / CCVP would be considered a requirement
Polycom Engineering Specialist - considered an asset
Netapp Certified Storage / Engineer - considered an asset
Voice & Unified Communications Specialist Certifications - considered an asset
Microsoft Professional Certification - considered an asset
Crestron foundations / fusion - considered an asset
Juniper Certification (JNCIA) and Avaya Red (ACSS) - considered an asset
10+ years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry
7+ years’ experience in design or assurance of IP networks & Collaboration Solutions
