  • MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

    As a member of the Business Intelligence team, the Technical lead will analyze business and functional requirements and will work with project manager and other developers in order to deliver the design documents and the technical specification documents and also build and implement the described solutions.

    The developer will be part of the project team in charge of implementing multiple BI related projects, and will work closely with the business user community from Finance and Enterprise Data Management.

    The optimal candidate will be one with proven experience in OBIEE implementation and / or Business Objects and Tableau, 8+ years of BI programming or datawarehousing experience using SQL, Oracle and an object-

    oriented programming language, as well as very strong data modelling skills and the ability to understand business terms that need to be translated into actual dashboards for decision making by senior managers.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    BI development tech lead responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following :

  • Production of detailed technical Design documents and technical specifications to match business requirements
  • Understanding the technical specifications prepared by other team members ensuring consistency with functional requirements, and overall Architecture
  • Challenging functional and technical requirements proposed by the stakeholders
  • designing, modeling and implementing Business Intelligence solutions (reports, dashboards, universes, etc.) in compliance with development and security norms and standards, while including the data and security challenges
  • Reviewing design documents and also performing code review for other team members.
  • Migration of BI components from one environment to another.
  • Performing Unit testing and Supporting SIT, UAT cycles.
  • Supporting Business Analysts and end-users when requested
  • Supporting the Application Production Support (APS) team for production deployments
  • Supporting the Business As Usual (BAU) Level 3 production support when not working on projects
  • Acting as a technical lead for OBIEE developers located offshore and onshore.
  • When required, handling local HR managerial tasks delegated to her / him
  • Monitoring the Market trends and be a force of proposition in onboarding new BI tools
  • TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • IT professional with 8+ years of experience in Canada or US / Global Financial institutions working in large-scale IT / Finance projects
  • ESSENTIAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong Hands-on experience in BI tools implementation with expertise in at least one of the OBIEE, Business Objects, Tableau or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience in working on projects mode and reporting status to stakeholders, management and sponsors.
  • Strong Oracle PL-SQL background along with understanding of banking data attributes.
  • NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Elastic Search
  • Experience in Data warehousing projects would be preferable.
  • Strong understanding in Object Oriented programming languages (Python, C++, Objective-C, Smalltalk, Delphi, Java, Perl, Ruby and PHP)
  • MS-Server and Unix / Linux operating system experience
  • Experience in Business Analytics.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • DevOps (awareness or strong experience preferred)
  • Big Data (awareness or willingness to learn is strongly preferred)
  • Experienced in working with business users interpreting business specifications and generating rules / logic for application configuration.
  • Experienced in working in large matrix teams.
  • Certification in BI tool or Oracle is optional but highly preferred.
