The success of Chemetics in winning and executing projects worldwide has created an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager position.

This is a senior position and prospective candidates should have a broad range of skills including strong relationship building, engineering execution and project management.

You will be responsible for the full performance of every phase of a major project or a group of smaller projects. This will include definition, planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions for contractual and corporate compliance.

The key responsibilities for this position include :

  • Leading and managing multi-disciplined engineering & support teams in all phases of project execution on lump sum projects;
  • Effective identification and management of project and contractual risks and opportunities;
  • Controlling and reporting of cost, schedule, progress and performance to senior management;
  • Championing safety behaviour and the management of change process.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Comprehensive understanding of project execution, project management and project control methodologies from project initiation to plant start-
  • up. This is typically acquired from at least ten - fifteen years’ project related experience in a Petrochemical or related industry;
  • Strong people management, communication and leadership capabilities supported by effective decision making and influential negotiation skills;
  • Fluency in a 2nd language, both written and oral will be considered an asset.
  • The position will require travel to international locations from time to time.
  • The Applicant must be able to travel freely without restrictions as it relates to criminal records or eligibility to enter foreign countries.
  • Ability to work in Canada.
