Procurement Lead Canada You’ll help create a competitive advantage for Mondelēz International by building winning supplier partnerships and effectively managing all company resources.

Working with the businesses, you and your team will drive sustainable top and bottom-line growth through supplier innovation, best-

in-class margin and cash management, and highly efficient source-to-pay processes.

Purpose of role :

1. Owns the BU President & Leadership Team relationships; works closely with BU Executives to understand the needs of the business, ensuring these needs are translated into Procurement plans that are ultimately executed within the Region.

2. Conveys BU expectations to the relevant Procurement teams and ensures strategies reflect these expectations. Acts as a single point of Procurement contact for Executives in the BU.

3. Ensures execution of Procurement commitments through alignment of BU resources ie. productivity, service, inflation mitigation, commodity spend, price risk management, cash, NPD and compliance in STP, BCP and Quality.

4. Directly leads a team of BU Procurement Specialists in line with Mondelez people management, principles & values to implement the procurement agenda in service of the BU.

This role has direct accountability for the end-to-end procurement agenda including an efficient and effective global Source to Pay process with MBS.

5. Acts as a Procurement Hub Lead responsible for building our Community e.g. drives unleashment, engagement, sense of belonging and supports BU hiring / on-boarding

Main Responsibilities :

1. Outstanding Stakeholder Management

  • Represent the Procurement function E2E on the BU Stakeholder leadership teams
  • Attend key BU Category meetings to drive execution of the Procurement strategies e.g. MOR / PNOC / ISC meetings.
  • Establish strong collaborative working relationships cross functionally to execute the Procurement strategies (ISC, RDQI, Marketing for A&C)
  • Understand and communicate BU specific needs and priorities to the relevant Procurement teams stakeholders so that they are addressed in relevant sourcing strategies, commodity coverage recommendations, innovation funnels and overall procurement support (including SRM, BCP, supplier requirements).
  • Understand and communicate spend area input needs in order to obtain commercial buy-in and incorporate accordingly in the BU business strategy.
  • Act as an escalation point for local or regional Procurement issues and drive resolution in line with Procurement policies.
  • Engage with Sourcing Leads to partner on BU or supplier initiatives / issues

    2. Drive Margin

  • Develop, together with R&D and Spend Area teams, a multiyear margin improvement agenda for the specific BU.
  • Drive the effort to enhance sufficiency and robustness of productivity pipeline including initiatives to fill and strengthen the pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the relevant spend areas, R&D, marketing and ISC to develop margin improvement programs with the focus on reformulation and complexity reduction.
  • Influence prioritization of projects and resources as part of margin management process.
  • Collaborate with R&D and ISC to establish and control the most effective resource allocation and timely execution via the adequate MOR and other forums.
  • Push for standardized trial- and testing protocols.
  • Deal with any roadblocks and ensure timely escalation within the BU for resolution.
  • Coordinate, supported by a business analyst, execution of productivity projects and requires the mobilization of adequate cross functional resources.
  • Ensures that the BU is aware of the known short and long term market trends with regards to material availability, cost development, and the potential impact on the competitive landscape.
  • Provide regular and accurate forecasts of progress against commitments (incl Financials).
  • 3. Drive and Support Growth

  • Responsible Procurement representative in the MOR.
  • Ensures Procurement involvement in BU growth and innovation projects by working with BU leadership and linking with Procurement Innovation Managers (PIM's) or Spend Area teams to mobilize procurement support.
  • The incumbent has the ability to translate product or process design elements into the respective actions to be taken by Spend Area teams.
  • Challenges pro-actively the make or buy decisions of the Category for External Manufacturers
  • 4. Secure Business Continuity

  • Working with Sourcing Leads, obtain regular BU approval for recommended business continuity programs (BCP) for most critical suppliers and materials in line with agreed risk assessment methodology.
  • Request the mobilization of R&D and ISC resources for developing supply alternatives.
  • Initiate, or on request lead, special situation teams to resolve out-of-stock (OOS) or material supply issues resulting in significant negative P&L impact.
  • 5. Drive an efficient STP process & manage the BU OVH

  • Ensure an efficient and effective STP process in the BU that is simple for stakeholders as well as compliant with the global strategies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure company processes and policies are followed by Procurement and the stakeholder community.
  • Develop and monitor the departmental budget to achieve targets consistent with company targets and overall financial well-being of the company.
  • Facilitate the assessment of the impact of changing requirements, including legislation and policies, migration from regional to global strategies etc.
  • 6 . Procurement Community Development

  • Create a One Team community for all procurement team members within scope of the BU, with a focus on the head office location and opportunities for face-
  • to-face ideation and learning. Directly accountable for driving engagement within the BU located procurement teams

  • One way of working for procurement within and across BUs
  • Actively drive common approach and ways of working related to margin management, productivity and implementation practices across Bus, as defined by the Global Procurement Capability team (COE) and working with the region procurement lead and region procurement capability lead
  • Empower the BU Procurement Specialists to be actively engaged in the Spend Area programs thru the relevant communities of practice.
  • Qualifications

    Knowledge and Experience :

    Undergraduate Degree (required); Masters degree (preferred)

    10 years of Commercial experience including at least 3 years in Procurement

    Fluent spoken / written English - Regional Language Knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory
