The Engineering and Operations organization is responsible for providing operations and technical support services to meet the Computing requirements of the business for Great-

West Life, London Life, Canada Life, Investors Group, Investment Planning Counsel, and Mackenzie Investments. Computing Services ensures that platforms, networks, business objects and applications of the infrastructure are available and operating to specified / planned levels of performance and support.

  • That includes problem assistance and resolution through the Service Desk and Second Level Technical Support; operations and management of computing systems;
  • technical support of mainframe, client / server, voice, and LAN / WAN infrastructure; service delivery and coordination;
  • and ongoing technology training to our Business Partners.

    The Infrastructure Specialist role reports to the Associate Manager. Intel Computing Services is responsible for providing 7x24 hour support and consultation in the server environment for specific sites.

    Position Overview :

    The Server Team Infrastructure Specialist (Intel) will provide support for the enterprise Intel and VMWare environments, and acting as an advisor for technical infrastructure projects.

    The position is for an Active Directory Specialist to support and provide ongoing operations activities, in a high availability development and production environment.

    This role is to support multi-national organization and requires candidate to be able to provide on call support 24 x 7 on a rotating basis.

    The position will act as a senior Administrator and assist in the creation of group policies, OU restructuring, group restructuring and Active Directory troubleshooting.

    Experience in writing documentation, standard operating procedures and updating these documents is required. The candidate will work as part of the operations support and maintenance team for windows, and work with network, application, and middleware teams to support product installations, customizations, and deployments as needed.

    Experience with scripting technologies such as Powershell is preferred.

    Accountabilities :

  • Day to Day management of a multi domain forest with over 10,000 users
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows systems installation, maintenance and troubleshooting, including Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and monitoring virtual (VMware) and physical servers
  • Demonstrated experience with managing Active Directory in a multi-domain environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Active Directory design and domain migrations
  • Demonstrated experience with Group policy creation, troubleshooting, and management
  • Demonstrated experience with Active Directory Federated Services
  • Experience with large scale datacenter design and operations
  • Exceptional attention to detail & strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Qualifications and Competencies :

  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline (computer science) or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience within IT environment in a Senior role.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows Server 2008R2 and newer
  • Demonstrated experience with VMWare virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge with system products such as IIS, SQL, Citrix
  • Knowledge in Active Directory, DHCP, DFS, DNS, ADFS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system management tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security management principles
  • Strong networking skills
  • Strong knowledge of Automation tools in a software defined data centre.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Infrastructure (Converged and Hyper-Converged)
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Powershell scripting capabilities
