The Vendor Manager is responsible for assisting with category strategy, sourcing supplier products and services, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.

Category coverage includes the portfolio of spend associated with Marketing.

  • Lead supplier sourcing efforts that take a forward looking view of total value of ownership •Help us raise the bar in the efficiency of our procurement practices through a continued focus on driving process excellence

  • Protect TELUS interests and mitigate risk in the creation of supplier contracts

    Qualifications :

  • bull;Strong cultural fit at TELUS •Solid understanding of negotiation theory, strategies and practices •Knowledge and experience relating to Marketing best practices •
  • Sound understanding of strategic sourcing concepts, methods, procedures and best practices •Excellent knowledge of contract law and the ability to negotiate favourable terms and conditions •
  • Aptitude in dealing with financial principles and data analysis concepts •Superior analytical skills, including expertise in the use of data to inform decision making •
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading supplier negotiations, structuring deals and creating contracts •Proven experience developing and managing successful supplier relationships and measuring supplier performance •
  • Ability to interface with and influence internal stakeholders •Unwavering desire to pursue favorable business outcomes on behalf of TELUS clients and shareholders •
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills •High degree of business ethics and accountability •5-7 years' relevant experience in either procurement or technology focused roles •
  • Bachelor's degree required

    Great-to-haves

  • bull;Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, or a willingness to complete as a part of your career development •
  • Engineering, legal, finance or supply chain backgrounds would be considered of benefit
