Job Responsibilities :

As a Controller with Aero Trading, you will be a key member of our corporate finance team. You will be reporting to the CFO with all aspects of financial management, including regulatory and financial reporting, budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.

Your job duties include :

  • Assist CFO with the timely preparation of monthly financial reporting
  • Manage a team of 2 accountants
  • Financial planning, reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost containment programs
  • Oversee and guide the accounts receivable, payable, GL, inventory, and month end / year end close process
  • Calculate and issue financial and operational metrics
  • Provide strategic support to the CFO and President
  • Co-ordinate month end timelines
  • Assist with payroll functions and regulatory reporting
  • Prepare supporting information for internal and external auditors
  • Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Assist with staff benefits and ensure compliance with required government programs
  • Update and manage fisherman’s loan documentation and balances
  • General IT supervision, oversight, and coordination with the IT provider
  • Coordinate and assist with all aspects of WCB remittance and affiliate regulatory reporting
  • Role Requirements :

  • Professional Accounting designation
  • Minimum 5+ years of combined accounting and financial experience
  • Familiarity or experience in a manufacturing or industry environment an asset
  • Highly proficient with Excel, Word, and accounting software
  • Fluency in Japanese an asset
  • Ability to provide mentoring and training of new and existing staff, including skills assessment
  • and implementation of necessary training to meet the company’s objectives
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities
  • Meticulous, organized, with strict attention to detail
  • Have a sense of leadership and personal accountability
  • Self driven and motivated
