Career Opportunity : Technical Sales Specialist

Shaw Business has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Specialist in our Edmonton / Kelowna office. Reporting to the Supervisor, Regional Technical Sales Management the successful candidate will join a growing team of technology professionals who support opportunity lifecycles for our Small Medium Business, Enterprise, and Channel sales teams.

Accountabilities :

  • Develop value-add technology solutions with network services for potential customers
  • Present features, benefits and value of Shaw Business Solution in customer engagements
  • Integrate qualifying and evaluating tools / resources into opportunity lifecycle
  • Contribute to RFP, RFI and tender requests with engineering / design specifications, product and service descriptions
  • Capture conceptual design of access, transport, data, voice and video network architectures that meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Marketing and Product Development teams, to manage customer expectations of technical solutions and future service requirements
  • Act as a technical liaison for internal and external customers
  • Various other duties as required
  • Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering complemented by a minimum of 3 years related work experience
  • Cisco and Meraki certifications and experience are considered an asset
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of access, transport, voice, and data network architectures and technologies in the communications industry are required
  • Individual must be well versed in communication technologies that are utilized to support data, voice and video
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to become a trusted advisor to various segments of an organization, internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities
  • Team player who values collaboration, self-awareness and mutual accountability
  • Must have an ability to travel in Canada and United States
  • A positive, can-do attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
