The Transportation business line of RVA is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Track and Civil designer / Engineer for the Toronto Office supporting work in the GTA.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare, coordinate and manage preliminary and final designs for transit and freight rail infrastructure projects
  • Review complex construction including work adjacent to live track, staging, temporary works and commissioning
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients
  • Manage projects in both AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads and Microstation platforms to generate plans, profiles, cross sections and quantities
  • Quality control / assurance to confirm the design meets client requirements and applicable standards
  • Qualifications :

  • 5 years’ experience in conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of both rail infrastructure projects and road infrastructure projects
  • Must hold an active P.Eng designation to practice in the province of Ontario
  • Demonstrates superior oral and written English communication skills
  • Must be proficient in design engineering for Metrolinx, CN and CP rail projects
  • Familiarity with Metrolinx, CN, CP, and AREMA design guidelines
  • Training in Canadian Railway Operating Rules and Track Inspection Guidelines would be an asset
  • Must possess practical knowledge of construction sequencing and constructability
  • Experience in both AutoCAD and Microstation platforms
  • Team player who is willing to take ownership of assigned work with ability to establish and meet deadlines consistently
  • Experience developing, technical specifications and contract documents
