Position Overview :

TELUS Partner Solutions Marketing is seeking a Senior Product Manager to work in our highly dynamic, fast-paced wholesale sales and marketing environment.

Reporting to the Director - Products & Services for TELUS Partner Solutions, you work in a collaborative team which is responsible for the Product Management of a portfolio of Broadband data, Internet, and Networking services.

Product Managers in Partner Solutions have the opportunity to take on a very broad role which includes all aspects of the marketing discipline including : portfolio strategy, portfolio life-

  • cycle management, service development, conducting market and financial analysis, channel engagement, driving portfolio revenue;
  • supporting sales deals and driving operational effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Responsibilities :

  • Taking responsibility for end-to-end product ownership for our wholesale High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) service delivered using DSL, GPON and other wholesale carrier networks
  • Setting the strategy and executing the service development for our HSIA product suite
  • Leading the extended product team on go-to-market plans
  • Improving customer experience for a suite of services
  • Developing competitive differentiation and benchmarking against TELUS’ competitors, as well as revenue retention strategies
  • Setting and implementing industry-leading product evolution & pricing strategies to maximize enterprise profit growth and retention
  • Optimizing product profitability by establishing competitive price structures that capture value in the market, and meeting product and process rationalization and optimization targets
  • Managing the performance of service delivery for the portfolio
  • Develop, secure support, implement and articulate a differentiated effective product strategy and tactics related to pricing, bundling, positioning, product lifecycle, placement, promotion, partnerships, channel compensation recommendations and service guidelines
  • Manage the market and financial performance of existing and / or new products (including Revenue, Customer deal criteria / standards, Operating Profit, Free Cash Flow, Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Discounted Payback, and Return on Investment and accountability for P&L)
  • Develop, manage and optimize multiple end to end value chains with accountable sub-process owners : Lead timely resolution of production and service delivery issues;
  • escalation of systemic customer issues; and major process changes with accountable sub-process owners

  • Use primary and secondary market research and competitive landscape research to recommend solutions to better support and / or reposition existing or new product offerings to cross-
  • functional teams and / or senior leaders

  • Analyze and anticipate market, client, regulatory and technology trends; create business plans and present recommendations to senior leaders
  • Required Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of DSL, DOCSIS, and GPON delivery technology and trends
  • Competitive understanding of the wholesale industry and knowledge of carrier customer decision-making are assets
  • Knowledge of TELUS cross-function operations and / or industry network is an asset
  • Experience with or strong understanding of the regulatory environment is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of wholesale marketing principles and the relationships between pricing, cost structures, margin, market share, value propositions, and demand drivers
  • Strong ICT background is a must

  • Required Professional Designation / Certification :

  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business
  • Required Experience :

  • 5+ years’ experience in either a service / product management environment, or in a telecommunications access / transport network environment
  • 5+ years’ telecommunications industry experience
