The Marketing Lead will be a key member of the Leadership Team responsible for overseeing business pursuit and promotion to achieve the annual business and strategic plan for the Toronto-

Ottawa studios. This role requires curiosity and passion for engaging and understanding the practice / portfolio of Perkins+Will and to assist in positioning it for success within our market and field of competitors.

The Marketing Lead will take direction from the Managing Director. The Marketing Leader will be responsible for managing and delegating to the marketing team in Toronto-

Ottawa. This role will also be supported by and require coordination with Perkins+Will’s regional and national marketing leads.

This role will require tasks with clear internal as well as external focus. Internal :

  • Ongoing dialogue with design and practice leaders to stay abreast of the design approach and thought leadership strengths of our practice.
  • Managing marketing team resourcing and developing organized workplans, schedules for complete proposal and interview process.
  • Coordinating EOIs, RFP's, and RFQs and market research to identify project leads.
  • Maintaining database of leads and proposals on the HUB.
  • Coordinating with Knowledge Managers, regional counterparts and corporate marketing staff to leverage existing materials, knowledge and best practices.
  • Maintaining up-to-date collaterals (project sheets, CVs, references, project statistics, etc )
  • Managing the preparation of high quality qualification packages, proposals, and presentations, including :
  • Coordination with relevant internal and external team members to obtain information required to develop qualifications and proposal content;
  • Editing technical portions, writing and editing non-technical portions of proposals;
  • Creating graphics (photography, charts, diagrams, etc.) to communicate required information; and
  • Coordination of all proposal materials (graphics, text, forms, formats, sub-consultant materials) for final deliverable. External :
  • Maintaining active social media presence across various platforms including linkedin, twitter, Instagram, etc
  • Research clients, market trends, and background information associated with business development.
  • Leading the preparation of award submittals, brochures and other collateral materials.
  • Identify opportunities for and orchestrate leadership visibility in the market, coordinating with external PR consultant in some cases.
  • Coordinating seminars, events, conferences and speaking opportunities.
  • Managing maintenance of a database / calendar of conferences, award submittals and other BD / networking activities.
  • Producing content and maintaining website including project profiles, news and staff bios.
  • Developing program of special events, client events, speaking engagements, etc to introduce the studio to new sectors, clients and geographies and maintain and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline
  • EXPERIENCE

  • 7-10 years of technical marketing experience. Experience within the A / E / C industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with office leadership and clients
  • Ability to direct and motivate work efforts of others and handle stressful situations
  • Familiarity with the A / E / C industry including relevant trade organizations, publications, conference and events
  • Experience marketing for an Interiors department
  • Ability to self-manage project assignments from start to finish with minimal oversight
  • Technical production skills are necessary and require a demonstrated ability to effectively use database applications, InDesign, Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite
