Where does the Software Programmer (EDI) fit in?

The software programmer (EDI) responsibilities will fall under all in-house proprietary systems, ensuring reliable and effective EDI operations.

The software programmer will need to apply their knowledge base in maintaining and improving EDI functions within our current set up and in-

house proprietary software. Ability to work within a small IT team. Will be involved in many aspects of business processes in solving EDI, ERP and any other IT issues to help stakeholders throughout Axiom Group.

What you can expect as our next Software Programmer (EDI) :

  • Work with customers to setup trading partner and communication link
  • Use programming to automate EDI data incoming and outgoing to our proprietary software PRISM
  • Provide support and resolve EDI errors from a programming perspective
  • Create a corrective action plan to keep systemic errors from reoccurring
  • Implement and test any changes to EDI as required by customer
  • Develop and support shipping labels with customers
  • Able to support and work outside of work hours as required
  • Write procedures and train personnel on shipping requirements for new customers
  • Periodically send EDI documents (i.e. for new customers, uncommon situations, or when correcting errors)
  • Read and understand EDI specs to know the requirements for each document type
  • Develop and implement new proprietary software programs within an Agile environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Are you our next Software Programmer (EDI)?

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in a software programming role
  • Knowledge & experience in programming for the web, jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, ASP.NET, with VB, C#
  • Knowledge of Databases, preferably MS SQL, MySQL
  • Passion for programming
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic, Deadline-driven & Results oriented
  • Able to learn and adapt to new software (in-house proprietary systems)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills to perform tasks with minimal supervision, and within required deadlines
  • Exceptional oral and written skills (English)
  • Enthusiastic and open to learning programming software used in house
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Experience / knowledge with EDI is an asset
  • Knowledge & experience in GitHub would be an asset
  • Experience in the Manufacturing industry is an asset!
