Tasks :

  • Work on different projects (cost savings, reduction of production time, replacement of parts, new sources of supply, reduction of inventory) set up at the local level and by the management of the company.
  • Manage these projects and ensure that the work team complies with the objectives and timelines.
  • Able to understand and execute a strategic plan across the entire supply chain and manage technological changes, both on the short and long term.
  • Liaise with Thomas & Betts and suppliers on various aspects and services : quality, manufacturing techniques, material management, research and development, etc.
  • Interact with the Customer Service, Internal Sales and Marketing groups with respect to data collection, analysis, decision-
  • making and execution of day-to-day operations impacted by procurement issues.

  • Analyze and improve the supply chain.
  • Interact with the engineering department regarding the introduction of new products.
  • Negotiate legal contracts and agreements on behalf of the company based on pre-established levels.
  • Keep up to date with all cost factors, indices and trends associated with concerned products.
  • Ensure responsibility for the development and performance of suppliers.
  • Control the inventory of the assigned merchandise group by applying the policies and procedures in force.
  • Requirements :

  • 5 years of experience in the coordination of activities related to the strategic management of the supply chain
  • Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Experience related to the manufacturing supply chain in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience related to the negotiation process
  • Experience with integrated systems (MRP II, ERP); knowledge of AS400 is an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel software ; knowledge of VBA is an asset
  • Good communication skills (French and English)
  • Leadership skills, ability to use recognized management techniques and high communication skills to achieve a required level of performance on the part of the team
  • Ability to recognize opportunities to reduce costs and inventory
  • Business acumen and ability to take risks / financial benefits from analysis throughout the supply chain
  • Engagement in a professional supply chain management program (PGCA, ISM, APICS) is an asset
