    Electrical Design SpecialistCA-ON-Kitchener-KIT0000GV Electrical Design Specialist Summary of Position : As an Electrical Design Specialist you are responsible for the entire assembly design process.

    Starting from the assembly design concept, you will work together with LEONI’s customers to agree on component designs. Leading up to volume production, you will be responsible for prototype build and defining the work instruction.

    Primary Responsibilities :

  • Design full electrical cable harnesses including connector selection, harness routing and manufacturing processes.
  • Build prototype electrical cable harnesses to prove concept feasibility for design and manufacturability.
  • Transform preliminary technical packages into working documents for manufacturing release.
  • Identify components (standard or custom) required to be sourced externally and co-ordinate demands with purchasing.
  • Develop products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing, assembly methods and materials.
  • Interact with customers as required.
  • Help maintain a safe work environment under LEONI Elocab Ltd.’s OH&S policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications :

  • University degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Injection Mold tool design experience an asset.
  • Strong project planning and project leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations in cable design, routing and connectors.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with an open mind (able to come up with new ideas and solutions for customers).
  • Attention to detail.
