The Associate Category Manager (ACM) partners with the Category Manager to assist with managing a product portfolio, sourcing new products, and determining and executing presentation and promotional planning.
Utilize the key components of business drivers (e.g. historical performance, competitive landscape, consumer identification, etc.
to support category sales growth;
In conjunction with Category Manager, build and refine a product offering that is aligned with our customers’ needs;
Provide competitive evaluation and ensure product offering and market price is in line with other industrial distributors and wholesalers;
Ensure supplier system information and costing remain up to date in order to avoid purchasing and sales errors;
Assist in negotiation and collection of rebates from suppliers;
Help drive future plans through analysis of sales and fulfillment and return reports, participating in review meetings, and the creation of ad-hoc reports;
Make decisions regarding visual representation of categories in all marketing materials, including catalogues, flyers and web;
Assist with contacting suppliers with respect to contract pricing, where required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Marketing or a related field, or a relevant combination of education and experience;
Proficient with MS office suite;
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and presentation, in French and in English;
Ability to drive results through the negotiation process, and to lead and influence others to reach stated objectives;
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment;
Strong decision making skills, and very good understanding as to how decisions impact the customer and the company;
Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and easily and rapidly shift priorities;
Knowledge of one or more of our product categories would be an asset.
