POSITION OBJECTIVE :

Working in an office environment, the Delivery Specialist ensures that Customers receive their goods in the most timely and most effective manner by tracking through reports and the computer system.

Expedites orders at the request of the Customer Service Department and Fisher Fast. Proactively tracks and expedites orders including those that are past due and rush orders to ensure that customers are satisfied.

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Answers all CSC, Fisher Fast and / or Supply Chain Specialists requests for delivery.
  • Reviews customer backorder reports for backorders past due our promise date to customers.
  • Manages a daily customer backorder discontinued report and proactively advises customers of possible subs by email or phone.
  • Contacts suppliers by phone, or e-mail on open purchase orders to obtain a commitment for a specific deliver date.
  • Updates delivery dates in appropriate system (PURX / IPOX)
  • Records expediting information in the computer on comments section PURX / IPOX screen.
  • Advises CSC, the Supply Chain Specialists and the Supply Chain Supervisor on reasons for unusually long delivery dates or supplier problems.
  • Contacts transportation companies to track missing shipments.
  • Reviews and actions Expedite Follow-Ups on a daily basis to keep them current and advises customers of updated delivery dates.
  • Cancels items from purchase orders in the mainframe when required.
  • Advises Supply Chain in the process of expediting, when an item is found to be discontinued. Determines substitutes and ensures they are entered into the system.
  • Proactively advises customers when we have indefinite delivery situations and offers alternatives.
  • Ensures all correspondence from business partners and customers is responded to in a timely manner.
  • Performs any other duties as may be required by the Supply Chain Supervisor or the Supply Chain Manager.
  • EDUCATION and SKILLS :

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Post secondary education preferred with a background in a business, procurement, or logistics discipline
  • Extremely organized, excellent prioritization skills and proven sense of urgency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills Looks at change in a positive manner, resilient to obstacles and promotes team cooperation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Bilingualism - English and French is preferred
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 1-3 years clerical or admin support experience.
  • SCOPE :

  • Works within a scientific, technical and / or functional discipline largely in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Uses company policies and procedures to resolve problems of limited scope and low complexity.
  • Received general instructions regarding work assignments
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Standard office environment
  • Hours of work may exceed regular schedule
