POSITION SUMMARY :

The role of the Supervisor, Communications Strategist is to conduct media planning and business strategy services to connect the communication strategy and touch points to deliver on business objectives.

Working within our integrated media planning unit which focuses on programmatic media of all kinds. Communications planning that goes further than dealing with only paid media but also integrating with owned and earned media.

Developing media strategies and operating procedures working within a team that is at the forefront of new media technology, innovation, and beta testing of new media technology and execution.

This role requires you to work as part of an integrated media planning team to ensure the product is grounded in insights and experience, resulting in flawless media executions.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • SME in the area of media planning
  • Develop strong relationships, acting as a key partner ensuring collaboration with all partner agencies.
  • Drive consumer obsession, supporting insights to ensure consumer understanding, craft personas and customer journey.
  • Ensure ideas can thrive across recommended communication touch points
  • Accountable for leading the preparation, writing and presentation of integrated media plans to drive business results, going beyond the brief.
  • Maintain stewardship and accountability of the media plan, regularly evaluating and monitoring execution, based on outlined KPIs.
  • Liaise and foster knowledge-sharing with key marketing partners and business leads
  • Integrate with the programmatic team in the preparation and presentation of evaluations of media opportunities, media trends and issues of interest to clients.
  • Solid understanding of client KPIs and objectives, ensuring that tracking is in place for check-ins as required.
  • Accurately and effectively manage client’s day-to-day planning requirements, with a strong understanding of client’s business objectives and KPIs.
  • Ensure measurement and metrics accountability, evaluating effectiveness of marketing initatives to meet business objectives.
  • Oversee financial media control, and budget control reports and ensure that discrepancies are resolved in a timely fashion.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Post-Secondary education University graduate and / or advertising / marketing College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in integrated media planning.
  • History of developing positive on-going business relationships with a focus on client service.
  • Creative thinker, passionate about ideas and innovation
  • Excellent understanding of marketing and communications
  • Expertise in program measurement and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge and insights gained from research resources to media planning.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, supporting the team, self-development, etc.
  • Proficient with media research tools (e.g. Clear Decisions, Vividata, Neilson), and media tools (e.g. Prisma).
  • Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Proactive thinker willing to challenge the status quo to driver on desired business objectives
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
