Project Description

Our Toronto based client is going to roll out VOIP organization wide. They currently don’t have the workforce to work on this project or maintain / troubleshoot the environment.

They need to hire 2 Network Analysts who have direct experience working in a Cisco and Avaya (Extreme) network environment, especially understand QoS technology and switch settings and have maintained / supported a VoIP system.

This is a 3-year term contract. Development, Implementation and Support of the VoIP System into the production network environment.

Description of Duties / Scope of Work

Provide expert level support of existing enterprise network infrastructure and participate as directed in the deployment / support of new network related technologies as required by the client specifically but not limited to the deployment of Quality of Service (QoS) on the Network and the implementation and support of VoIP.

Mandatory Skills / Certification

  • Minimum 5 years of direct involvement in the construction and support of large enterprise level network systems including multi-
  • branch support, multi-homed Internet support

  • Knowledge of Quality of Service and experience designing / implementing in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to serve as a technical mentor to other technical analysts
  • Hands-on configuration and support of layer 2 / layer 3 network protocols
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of multi-protocol network systems
  • Direct involvement of implementing / supporting QoS over multi-protocol network system
  • Maintaining / Monitoring and Troubleshooting a VoIP system in a distributed network environment
  • Direct involvement with the configuration and support of multi-node stateful inspection firewall systems with preference given to Checkpoint / Nokia products
  • Demonstrated expertise with Avaya / Extreme network switching products
  • Demonstrated expertise with Cisco Networks switching products
  • Demonstrated expertise with enterprise WiFi systems with preference given to experience with Aruba products
  • Demonstrated experience with small security appliances (Cisco ASA Series)
  • Experience with the configuration and support of enterprise Internet presence including IP / AS administration and BGP routing
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of detailed, high quality network documentation
  • Demonstrated customer service focus
  • Switching (Capacity Planning and VLAN’s)
  • Routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP)
  • WAN Technologies (MPLS, VPLS, VPN)
  • Voice Technologies (POTS, VoIP, SIP Trunking)
  • Familiarity with : VPN’s, VoIP, SIP Trunking, BGP, VMware VLAN, Large Scale Wireless Deployments
  • Security software such as Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM, Anti-Spyware, and other security related technologies
  • Other Skills / Certification

  • CCNA / CCNP certification or equivalent practical work experience
  • CISSP certification or equivalent practical work experience
  • Experience using standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Written test required? (Yes / No) : Yes

    Deliverables

  • Implement, Monitor and Maintain a QoS environment
  • Implement, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support VoIP system across the Corporate Network
  • Respond to dispatched incident tickets meeting required timelines
  • Respond to dispatched request (change order) tickets meeting required timelines
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to Network Sections supported environments
  • Alert supervisory staff to any safety concerns or observations
  • Provide technical observations and suggestions as applicable to help improve network operations
