Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Consulting Engineer based inour Burlington Office. We are looking for someone with passion, drive, and motivationin the delivery of high technical standards and quality to our clients within agrowing consulting team environment.
The Electrical Consulting Engineer will be responsible for
A client facing role and the provision of technical expertise within the Consulting Business Line
Managing projects, deliverables, sub-consultants and designers
Developing and maintaining client relationships that foster potential growth opportunities
Assistance with preparing engineering proposals and budgets
Proactively pursuing and securing business opportunities with clients
Willingness to coach and mentor team members to build business capability
Design and specification of medium and low voltage electrical power systems, sub-stations, grounding, and protection schemes
Design of power distribution, lighting and auxiliary systems
Preparation of technical reports, specifications, and provision of field support, site inspections, assessments and verification
Providing technical guidance to less experienced staff
Ensuring compliance with applicable Codes, Regulations, company procedures and standards
Ensuring designs and deliverables meet the established project criteria, schedules, and client expectations
Effectively applying Ausenco methodologies and project control standards during execution of work
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Registration as a P. Eng. in Ontario (PEO)
A minimum of 10 to 15 years relevant experience in design, assessment and upgrades to electrical building systems and infrastructure in a consulting engineering environment
Demonstrated design experience in power distribution within industrial plants, institutions, and government settings
Demonstrated design experience with lighting and modelling, including emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, communication systems, and emergency power
Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and the Canadian Electrical Code
Experience with Arc Flash studies and design software such as ETAP, EDSA, or equivalent
Experience with instrumentation and control would be considered an asset
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal team members in the development, design and specification of electrical projects
Strong problem solving and technical skills
Sound organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and established budgets
Team player with a can do’ attitude and skills to find solutions and resolve issues in an efficient and logical fashion
A self-starter able to take ownership of assigned tasks and steward closure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing proposals and delivering presentations Proficient with MS Office product suite
Commercial sense and experience expanding and developing business with new and existing clients
An ability to create and share a sense of direction to individuals and teams
Sound understanding of project financial budgets and controls
