Reporting to the Operations Manager, Fort Hills, this position provides a variety of technical support functions. Some of the day-

to-day activities include analyzing product failures and working with the customer and OEM to resolve issues, producing technical reports for both internal and external communications as well as tracking equipment availabilities and maintaining up to date availability records.

Another important function of this position is compiling technical data and recommended best practices required by customers and assisting in development of maintenance programs for new equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Maintaining current knowledge regarding equipment and service requirements involving industry procedures and standards .
  • Investigating mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic system problems by understanding and utilizing engineering standards, technical manuals, prints, and test tooling.
  • Documenting failure information pertaining to equipment specific and service related issues, design deficiencies, safety concerns, and general maintenance problems that may periodically require follow up.
  • Supporting the creation and development of reliability programs and procedures by providing product reliability, customer concerns, and feedback to applicable departments and OEM’s
  • Providing customer support and service.
  • Qualifications : The successful candidate will possess a degree or technical certification in Engineering, preferably mechanical and a minimum of 5 years reliability experience.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
  • Must possess good judgement, initiative, dependability and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and / or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • This position is based out of the Fort Hills site and works a 7 day on, 7 day off rotational shift schedule. Flights to site marshal out of Edmonton or Calgary.
