Property and casualty (P&C) insurance agents take calls from members and clients regarding their home and auto insurance.
Their mission is to give clients a positive experience when they call and offer them advice so that they get the best coverage for their needs.
P&C insurance agents also promote and maintain business relationships with their assigned Desjardins caisse partners.
Serve clients over the phone by helping them change, cancel and update policies, while making sure their needs are fully addressed so that they are satisfied and remain loyal.
Personalize phone calls with clients; create an environment of trust to promote the sale of home and auto insurance products, while complying with the organization’s underwriting policies.
Solicit potential clients to generate new business and contact clients to update their files.
Follow up on files to ensure that clients’ needs are met, while respecting the organization’s underwriting policies.
Provide clients with a complete service offer, present complementary products and services, and promote referrals to Desjardins partners.
Report to the Sales and Loyalty, Client Care Centres Section.
College diploma in a related field OR attestation of collegial studies (ACS) in P&C insurance OR a certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (https : / / lautorite.

Two years of relevant experience
Other combinations of relevant training and experience may be considered.
Personal lines property and casualty insurance agent’s licence (asset)
Advanced intermediate level of English (asset)
Ability to adapt quickly, be flexible and deal with ambiguity
Ability to take initiative and act independently
Comfortable with new technology

Paid training beings July 9th, 2018 for non-licensed candidates and June 13th or August 15th, 2018 for licensed candidates (or those who have completed their AMF exams)
Distance training for a period of 5 weeks (for candidates with certificates), followed by training in our Montreal office for 8 weeks (for candidates with and without certificates)
Work place : 250 Saint-Joseph Boulevard, Gatineau
Travel : to different caisses in the region (as required for the position)
Schedule : Work 2-3 evenings per week and occasional Saturdays
