What is the opportunity?

As Associate Director you will apply knowledge of the client’s industry together with financial expertise to grow, expand and acquire business clients.

This role provides an exceptional client experience by providing superior business and financial advice. Ideal for a candidate with strong business development capabilities to build and manage a new portfolio / desk of commercial mortgages, operating loans and deposits with knowledge and familiarity of commercial real estate construction financing.

Your target market is defined as "Individuals / Companies whose primary business is investment in & / or development of Commercial Real Estate.

The primary credit solutions you will be offering are Project Finance, Mortgage / Term Financing, and Investment Lines of Credit.

You will also offer a full range of Operating and Cash Management Services.

What will you do?

  • Utilize strong prospecting and business development skillset to bring in new clients, growing your portfolio through new acquisition
  • Develop and implement strategies for your portfolio of clients and prospects to meet their needs and maximize revenue / profit for RBC
  • Ensure your client receives the highest level of value and service and deliver a differentiated client experience
  • Provide solutions and business advice, designed to fulfill the client’s total financial services needs with a consistent focus on building long term relationships with RBC
  • Develop relationships with service partners and the local market to optimize business opportunities and referrals
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to self-learning / development to ensure skills, knowledge and accreditations are up-
  • to-date and meet position requirements and market demands.

    What do you need to succeed?


  • Commercial Account Management and / or Risk management experience
  • Exposure to construction financing and structuring of complex real estate transactions
  • Proven business development skills, including prospecting, and cold calling
  • Strong sales techniques and understanding of business strategies to sell a broad range of business solutions, and services
  • Demonstrated success in building trust and maintaining long term client relationships
  • Self-motivated, Independent approach and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Nice to have

  • 3-6 years’ experience in commercial real estate
  • MBA or CFA
  • Industry / market knowledge of the commercial real estate sector
