Position & Responsibilities :
EMAC is looking for a passionate Technical Outside Sales Representative with a strong background in sales, and a very strong technical knowledge of flow meters and environmental instrumentation.
This individual will utilize their technical knowledge to represent and expand exposure of EMAC’s MACE Flow Meter line to the market, as well as developing new and existing business opportunities.
The outside sales representative promotes the overall growth and profitability of EMAC’s specialized fleet of monitoring technology equipment inclusive of : flow meters, water level and quality data loggers, air quality sensors, handheld Instruments, telemetry, and drones / UAS’.
The representative will address customers needs for reporting / monitoring and regulatory compliance requirements, mainly as it relates to equipment rentals and sales in the Construction, Development, Municipal, Remediation, Mining and Industrial sectors, establishing and maintaining customer contacts.
Customer service is paramount to this position, and prompt professional response is essential.
Maintain a strong understanding of and speak to the science of; flow meters, doppler and electromagnetic flow sensors, telemetry systems, monitoring instruments and sensors, compliant applications, proper installation, to properly sell to the market
Identify and engage with prospective clients and applications, perform daily searches for tender opportunities, as well as stay aware of industry trends.
Utilize CRM for inquiries and leads.
Manage key accounts and establish, and maintain professional new and existing customer client relationships, maintain CRM system
Lobby EMAC’s flow meter lines and ensure EMAC’s product lines are qualified to supply to all public and private sector customers, and are on approved product lists where applicable
Work with engineers to ensure tender specs are in line with our products’ engineering specs
Evaluate and recommend equipment and solutions to suit the client’s needs, and work with inside sales support to promptly generate quotes, proposals, and ensure customer receives all shipments and services in a prompt manner
Achieve annual sales targets through the sale, rental, and support of EMAC’s equipment as well as services
Perform on-site customer visits and assessments to ensure proposed flow meter and monitoring technologies suits application, as well as advanced technical product support and troubleshooting when needed
Participate in promotional events such as industry trade shows
On-Call on evenings and weekends for urgent project and emergencies, and travel within Ontario
Do You Have What It Takes?
Education and Qualifications :
Minimum of a Degree, Mechanical or Technical Preferred
Diploma or Degree in Earth Science, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Fish and Wildlife, or related would be an asset
Any of the following certifications and licenses are also an asset : Fall Arrest, Fall Protection, WHMIS Certification, CET, CISEC, Well Technician Licence
Knowledge of flow monitoring and fluid dynamics
Knowledge of Government regulations is an asset
Strong verbal and written skills presentation skills is also a strong asset
Minimum 2 years experience in a sales and / or business development role
Must have experience installing flow meters and environmental instrumentation, 5+ years preferred
Hands-on experience working with electronic circuits such as 4-20mA, Modbus, SDI-12 is a must
Experience bidding on tenders
Experience preparing quotes and proposals
Experience in instruments used for Environmental Inspection, Monitoring, Geoscience, and / or related fields
Knowledge or surveying / GIS is an asset
Experience utilizing a CRM is an asset
