Title of Position

General Manager Heartland Petrochemical Complex Operations

Job Duties

  • The General Manager, Heartland Petrochemical Complex (HPC) Operations, is a senior level leadership position broadly responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant operational performance of the HPC.
  • Responsible for the cost management of the HPC, including the Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) plant, Polypropylene (PP) plant, and the Central Utility Block (CUB), and the development and execution of related projects.
  • Oversees the physical operation and business performance of all assets directly operated by the company at HPC.
  • Develops a close working relationship to ensure common goals and objectives are aligned with the following groups : NGL Processing Operations, Commercial Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, Accounting, Legal, Technical Services, Operations Services, EH&S, Regulatory, and Compliance.
  • Liaises with industry peers, community stakeholders and key customers.
  • Demonstrate IPL’s leadership competencies to help deliver against our business strategies, reinforce our core values, and shape our organizational culture.

    Wage

    Base Pay : $275,000- $325,000

    All compensation is reviewed annually and Inter Pipeline takes industry trends into consideration when determining compensation.

    This position is eligible to participate in the Inter Pipeline annual incentive pay plan. This position will also be eligible for an initial grant of Restricted Share Units ( RSUs ) under Inter Pipeline’s long term incentive plan.

    In addition, this role may be eligible for a one time signing bonus that will be determined at time of hire.

    Locations of Work :

    This role will originally be based out of the Calgary corporate office, and transition to the Heartland Petrochemical Complex in the Stathcona County area following the completion of the administration offices at the site.

    Skill Requirements :

  • Minimum 20 years experience within the petrochemical industry
  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Strong business acumen; passion for the petrochemical industry
  • Strong petrochemical leadership and project management skills required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated record of managing complex operations with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) under high pressure conditions
  • People oriented and customer focused leader with emphasis on safety and environment stewardship and regulatory compliance.
  • Previous track record for managing P&L
  • Track record of building high performing teams at varying levels within the organization
