The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervisory functions of tradespeople supporting the maintaining needs of fiber and polymer production areas.
Lead a crew of tradespeople against safety, quality, skill and efficiency expectations. Manage, develop and motivate a team of approximately 20 direct reports.
Provide performance feedback to employees by performing regular reviews and yearly performance evaluations.
Make the most efficient use of site maintenance resources by providing input to scheduling, partnering with operations, and working to remove barriers to execution including materials management, planning improvement, feedback to reliability engineers and holding trades accountable for efficient execution.
Provide technical & troubleshooting support to site tradespeople. Lead Root Cause Analysis and work with the Reliability Engineering Team to develop sustainable solutions for equipment and systems failures.
As a member of the Site Maintenance Leadership Team, hold a shared accountability for the integrated direction, vision, policy, leadership and decision making of Kingston’s maintenance operations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair techniques for a range of industrial equipment
Knowledge of and experience with maintenance best practices
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead from a vision, self-driven and results-oriented
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams using Root Cause Analysis problem solving methodology.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
Ability to motivate, influence and drive good business decisions while working with a diverse workforce
Demonstrated critical and economic thinking skills for the evaluation and selection of alternatives
Ability to develop and implement systematic and sustainable programs and solutions
Ability to effectively use computer-based systems including Word, Excel and CMMS.
Physical condition and health compatible with duties of this role
Able to work in a tobacco free environment
Background and Experience Requirements
B.S. Engineering OR Engineering Technology Diploma OR Trades Certificate of Qualification
Five (5) years industrial or manufacturing experience working in an engineering or maintenance function with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
