Status : Temporary Full-time for approx. 6 months
Hours : Monday to Friday 7.5 hour Days (hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Job Summary :
This position is responsible for accounts payable related administrative functions, including invoice processing for Purchase Order and Non-
Purchase Order transactions, working closely with Shared Services West Purchasing, communicating regularly with internal and external stakeholders, filing and invoice scanning, month-
end journal entries and other duties as assigned.
This is what you'll be doing :
Receive accounts payable invoices and backup from internal / external mail
Verify 3-way match of PO invoices received, and work with Shared Services West Purchasing and vendor to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Obtain appropriate approvals in accordance with HHS policies for all Non-PO invoices received for payment
Perform data entry of all invoices ensuring that expenses are coded to the correct general ledger accounts, submit to AP Coordinator for review
Liaise cross-functionally with the Finance Capital group and Redevelopment to update excel files for invoice status on capital purchases ·
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (department heads, assistants, vendors etc.)
Contact vendors for supporting documents in order to resolve discrepancies or expediting payments as needed
Investigate all internal and vendor enquiries and respond in a timely and professional manner
Maintain files and scanned images of invoices and support documentation for reference and audit purposes
Perform other duties as required.

Minimum 1-2 years experience in accounting / finance with emphasis on accounts payable, in a computerized A / P environment
Post-secondary accounting / finance courses and demonstrate a strong accounting knowledge
Proficiency in computers i.e. MS Office programs (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
Previous health care accounting experience in a hospital environment is an asset
Proven interpersonal and communications skills across all levels of the organization with a customer service focus
Detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks with deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physically able to sit, stand, walk, occasional lift and / or carry approximately 20lbs
Satisfactory employment and attendance record
