The Industrial Electrician performs a variety of complex tasks, such as electrical troubleshooting, programming and electrical installations.
Plan layout, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and controls equipment.
Repair faulty equipment or systems.
Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to professionally install new equipment.
Attain safety, quality and productivity goals
Install and maintain equipment to satisfy all corporate and technical standards
Assist in the training of electrical apprentices
Report daily activities to supervision to assure accurate asset maintenance records
Report all critical and non-critical problems to Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Manager and relevant Team Members
Attend training as required and keep accurate records
Complete correspondence, documentation and reports as required
Utilize the Magna Employee’s Charter programs (Open Door Process, Employee Advocate, Fairness Committee, Employee Assistance Programs, and Hotline)
Follow and abide by all government legislation and guidelines; Magna Employee’s Charter; Corporate Constitution; Grenville Castings rules / regulations / procedures & policies.
Adhere to customer requirements
Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow the 5S principles. Practice our safety first policy by addressing : hazards, defective equipment, wearing personal protective equipment as required, and by reporting unsafe conditions immediately
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by Team leader, Supervisor or Management
Knowledge and Education
Grade 12 or equivalent
Completion of relevant post-secondary education and apprenticeship
Valid Certification of Qualifications
5 years of experience working with industrial equipment
PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley / Siemens)
Robotics experience (ABB / Fanuc)
Millwright and / or Mechatronics experience an asset

The work environment is primarily plant floor and is characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise and tow motor traffic
