95FTE) for a Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician at Golden and District Hospital in Golden, BC!
In this role you will :
Transport patients, specimens, equipment and supplies within the perioperative area
Be knowledgeable in the use, care and location of perioperative equipment and supplies
Restock supplies in theatres and storage areas
Provide input to the surgical team regarding patient observations and interactions
Perform a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and / or surgical supplies and instruments for various areas of the hospital.
Some Other Typical Duties Include :
Monitoring and maintaining established levels of sterile and non-sterile supplies used throughout the facility as per ward and department requirements by performing duties such as performing inventory counts, requisitioning supplies and equipment, reporting and recording shortages, problems and complaints related to instruments, supplies and equipment, etc.
maintains records on instruments, supplies and equipment processed and requisitioned in accordance with established procedures.
Receiving, filling and delivering urgent and routine requests for instruments, supplies and equipment for the OR and / or other patient care areas.
Printing pick lists using a computerized system. Picking and distributing instrument sets, equipment and supplies for medical and / or surgical procedures for various patient care procedures / areas.
Replenishing procedure and specialty supply carts for various patient care areas on a regularly scheduled basis in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Performing routine cleaning / sanitation of work stations / areas, storage areas, processing machines and equipment.
Performing related clerical duties such as maintaining records, answering telephones, filing, typing and information retrieval from computer.
Assisting with orientation and training of new staff and students.
Performing and recording environmental safety monitoring activities.
Participating in evaluation and trial of instruments, equipment and supplies.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Shifts for this position are days : 07 : 00-15 : 00, 08 : 00-16 : 00.

Grade 12, successful completion of Sterile Processing Course, plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
