Our Infrastructure group in Toronto is looking for a Construction Inspector to join our growing team who can work on road and highways projects in the Toronto, Hamilton, and Kitchener-Waterloo areas.
Please note that this position is a 6 month contractual opportunity.
Lavalin Contract Administrators, Project Managers and design staff.
Bring any deviations to the attention of the contract administrator.Maintain a site diary and as-built drawings to accurately record the progress of the construction work.
Record and track measurement of quantities for payment.Maintain familiarization of the contract drawings and specifications, and carry out reviews for constructability, errors, conflicts, and ambiguities.
Coordinate with construction contractors, contract administrator, and other site inspectors.Understand client objectives, technical protocols, laws, guidelines and regulations that apply to the work.
Prepare with a high level of accuracy and care, appropriate site documentation, such as daily reports, log books, quantity calculations, and so on, conforming to each client’s specific needs, and in support of the Contract Administrator’s deliverables to the client.
Maintaining necessary document control, and participating in appropriate QA / QC processes.Participate in meetings.Identifies and brings attention to issues related to health, safety, environment and security of the site.
Assist Contract Administrator in preparation of payment certificates and change orders.Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager or Contract Administrator.
