Job Duties and Responsibilities
Promote good employee relations throughout the plant
Promote good work ethic and a positive attitude
Promote good attendance
Among personnel, consistently attend to and aim to resolve conflicts; Refer detailed / complex personnel concerns to the Supervisor first, then the BUL and / or HR
Promote good housekeeping and manufacturing practices (setting an example for other employees within the plant) and ensure personnel on the line / area practice good housekeeping and keep their work areas clean
Recommend to and / or provide to the Supervisor or BUL names of any employees requiring discipline or having behavioral and / or performance problems
Coach and assist employees on proper techniques in order to accomplish the task at hand
Work with Trainers to evaluate and complete appraisal checklist for trainees and / or employees
Delegate / allocate work to resources i.e. packers / mixers / droppers
Control of Line / Area Activities
Work with and assist the other Team Captains in order to ensure focus on every line / area
Have basic knowledge of the operation of equipment / machines in your area or on your line
Ensure the proper number of people and materials are on the line to operate in an efficient manner; Complete pre-op sheets
Coordinate breaks with Supervisors and / or other Team Captains
Schedule and direct personnel on their daily assignments, including breaks and relief on the line; Assist in performing relief duties and organizing the rotation and breaks of people in your area
Report any problems regarding packaging material / mixing ingredients, product quality or production standards to your Supervisor and / or Quality Control;
and perform first steps for resolution
Organize other duties when a breakdown occurs
Ensure that the team maintains a clean and safe work area
Attempt to resolve production issues on the line and communicate the actions taken to the Supervisor
Work with team to ensure your designated line / area start-up on time, including the coordination of changeovers
Contact mechanic / electrician to provide prompt breakdown service whenever it is required to ensure minimum equipment downtime and scrap
Maintain personal hygiene; Clean uniforms, hair and beard nets are mandatory for GMP
Continuous Process Improvement
Advise Supervisor of any ideas in QCDSMA area that could lead to increased productivity or risk reduction
Lead and facilitate Huddle Board meetings; Interacts with the Supervisor at level II meetings
Share ideas, policy / business information and communicates with other teams / Team Captains
Support of PQR, OEE and other site / Mondelez programs / initiatives
Health and Safety
Promote and practice safety first philosophy and accident prevention among Dad’s team
Work in a safe and competent manner, following rules and procedures as required and as outlined in our Health & Safety guidelines
Address any unsafe condition and report to your Supervisor
Acts as the contact person in the case of an accident, incident or near miss and ensures that all necessary forms are completed
and coordinates investigation
Have working knowledge of and support various safety programs i.e. BOS, LOTO, Evacuation, PPE, WHMIS and other site /
Mondelez programs / initiatives / policies / procedures
Accurately record, report and submit all data i.e. weights, case per skid, downtime, scrap and finished production reports, downtime reasons, HACCP sheets
Ensure labour, excess dough, B&R, scrap etc. is properly and accurately reported to your line / area
Work with and support new product trials
Work with and support line / equipment improvements to meet ergonomics, productivity, health and safety initiatives
