Job Description

McGill Health Infrastructure Group (MHIG) is responsible for the operation and maintenance as well as the commercial spaces in the McGill University Health Center’s Glen campus.

MHIG is currently seeking to open a medical clinic within the Glen campus which would be completely independent from the McGill University Health Center and is seeking a Clinic Manager to oversee all aspects of this endeavour.

Your responsibilities would include :

Implementation of Medical Clinic

  • Develop the strategy and action plan for the implementation of a medical clinic at the MUHC Glen campusEnsure clinic activities satisfying compliance with federal, provincial and other applicable regulationsComplete a market research on the Montreal market Develop / recommend an implementation strategy (MHIG acting as a landlord, as a medical clinic operator, etc .
  • Develop financial business cases for each implementation strategy

  • Once proposed strategy approved, manage successful project implementationFinalize business objectives, budgets and financials;
  • Negotiate / manage all commercial negotiationOversee implementation

  • Manage ongoing communication with the MUHC on implementation plan and progress
  • Management of retail spaces :

  • Manage operations of retail spacesManage communications with businesses and act as MHIH’s first responder for operational items;
  • Inspect / audit businesses to ensure that site rules and regulations are being followed;Implementation of procedures between businesses and MUHC employees (ex : delivery of merchandise and temporary storage at loading dock)Coordinate projects related to the retail areas (advertising, planning, etc.)

  • Manage leases and other contracts related to retail spaces Work in close collaboration with the Commercial Director in order to provide them with relevant information for the leasing of available spaces;
  • Follow up with businesses regarding lease related issues (ex : management of requests for changes to approved services and products)Assist the Commercial Director with amendments to and implementation of leases (ex : settlement agreements).

  • Management of rent paymentsCollection of receivables in accordance with lease terms : Collect rent, taxes, utilities, operating expenses, etc.
  • Ensure compliance of businesses with insurance requirements (ex : valid insurance certificates);Communicate to the CFO or the Financial Analyst relevant financial information relating to the retail spaces.

    Requirements for this position include :

  • Minimum of two years of management experience in a medical office setting, experience in the establishment of new medical clinics an asset;
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French to maintain effective rapport with patients, physicians and team members
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in building trusted relationships
