ABB is seeking a Field Service Representative to work independently or as part of a team based on customer contract requirements.
Excellent communications skills in French and English are a must. Technical skills will be considered the foundation of this position.
This position will be focused on integrated mine hoist systems, including power distribution, electrical drives, motors, braking systems and control systems.
This successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and self-directed to accommodate the numerous customer responsibilities.
The successful candidate will join our service team located in Montreal, Quebec.
The successful candidate may participate in new and retrofit mine hoist system projects and lifecycle service jobs together with other experienced service personnel as part of their development plan
The successful candidate will be required, once he / she has reached the required level of expertise, to be part of the 24 hour ABB Supportline.
This is based on rotating weeks together with the rest of the team.
The successful candidate will have responsibility to travel to sites to troubleshoot and resolve hoist system operational issues, with support from an extended team when required.
The goal would be to ensure the mine hoisting systems are operational and meeting performance, availability and utilization targets.
The successful candidate may be required to coordinate extended team meetings of hoist system subject matter experts to;
Analyze the hoist performance (uptime, maintenance, unplanned trip outs) that the customer is experiencing
Institute operational & maintenance improvements
Review operational parameters in dealing with a particular issue
Plan new maintenance and tune-up activities to resolve the customer issues
Electrical Engineering degree or Technologist Diploma
Minimum 5 years of experience with industrial automation systems
Mine hoist systems knowledge and experience is a definite asset
Strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to customer needs, strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined service environment often under pressure filled conditions
Experience in dealing with customers to resolve problems
Good communication skills, in both languages (French and English) including the ability to write technical reports and speak effectively before customers or employees of the client organization
This position requires residence in the Montreal area
