Join our team

We are part of the Marketing Strategy & Operations team supporting the Business intelligence (BI) for Consumer and Small business marketing teams.

This team was designed as a centre of excellence team supporting various wireless brands across TELUS including T Brand, KOODO, Public mobile and Small business teams.

This team enables marketing leadership team with key performance dashboards and also supports official quarterly wireless subscriber reporting that are released to the streets.

The team is powered with state of the art of BI and visualization tools (e.g., SAS, Domo & Tableau) to unleash new business opportunity through the power of timely and relevant data insights including big data.

This is a highly visible business consultant role and we are looking for a team member who is a natural influential leader, enthusiastic, motivated, passionate, intellectually curious and analytical to support wireless marketing team.

  • Here’s how

  • Lead and manage strategic direction on planning, development, testing and implementation of various organizational reporting and analytics tools that align with wireless marketing team reporting needs which includes streamlining of BI Reports
  • Lead cross-functional projects in identifying advanced data modeling and analysis techniques that will guide strategic decisions and uncover organizational optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to understand the big picture and develop strategic reporting processes that will help them get the data they need to make timely and informed business decisions
  • Anticipates the potential needs of departments and the organization based on previous and current available information and use that in the development of the right tool with right level of complexity for appropriately solving business problem
  • Provide subject matter expertise for projects and initiatives involving analytics and business reporting process / es and project management in collaboration with internal / external stakeholders
  • Support junior team members to develop automated data process and Domo / Tableau reporting self-serve tools and drive adoption within business stakeholders
  • Perform root cause analysis on trend the why and the so what and identify opportunities
  • With a curious attitude and a determination to work around obstacles
  • Provide exemplary service to clients and work under minimal supervision
  • Qualifications

    You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in the production of a range of data-driven visualizations (dashboards, reports, presentations) and provide insights on business performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Advanced skills working with SQL (Oracle) & SAS enterprise guide to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Strong data mining skills and hand on experience developing end to end automated reporting process
  • Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development
  • Interface between business and technical teams and translate technical and business requirements
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Very comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities / needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills with strong story telling ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Typically works on multiple, unrelated projects simultaneously
  • University degree in Business Analytics discipline : Operations Research, Management Information Systems, Business, Mathematics
  • Great- to-haves

  • A passion for process improvement - Lean Six Sigma methodology experience is an asset
  • Experience with Agile process redesign or project delivery is an asset
  • Telecommunications industry experience a definite advantage
  • Knowledge on Big Data tools including Splunk & Hadoop and Python are an asset
  • Master’s degree in data science or MBA
