The Infrastructure Engineering division is currently looking for an Electrical Building Technician, for its National Capital Region office, to act as technical specialist under the supervision of the the Director of the Mechanical and Electrical department.
Develop preliminary design and technical specifications such as lighting, fire alarms and other related systems;
Assist the engineers preparing detailed design calculations and layouts;
Conduct site visits and perform inspection for the mechanical system installation;
Develop feasibility studies
Respond to site related construction issues through site query / site instruction response;
Prepare technical documents and sketches in the form of site instruction;
Review quality documents and Post Installation Check out forms;
Collegial degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
5 to 10 years of experience in building electrical sector
Must have a solid understanding of engineering of building systems preferably for academic and research institutions, health care, offices, municipal infrastructure and industrial facilities
Project experience in the municipal and government sector (provincial and federal) would be an asset
Considerable knowledge of Consulting Engineering established guidelines, procedures and practices
Proficiency in planning and control methods
Understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria
Considerable knowledge of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques;
Bilingualism French and English (written and spoke) an asset
