Job Description

The candidate is responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of space hardware electronic module assembly processes.

Main processes to control are die placement, wire bonding, adhesive curing, vacuum bake, plasma cleaning, hermetic packages sealing and screening.

Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Program wedge and ball bonders and develop gold wire and ribbon bonding processes (0.7, 0.8 and 1 mil wires)
  • Develop die mounting processes and program pick and place equipment
  • Develop adhesive curing processes
  • Develop hermetic sealing processes, seam sealing and laser
  • Implement and debug PIND, mechanical shock, leak testing and thermal cycling screening activities
  • Develop curing processes for electronic parts
  • Program laser marking machine
  • Develop repair processes
  • Provide design for manufacturability feedback to design teams
  • Continuously improve assembly processes
  • Qualifications :

    The candidate holds a diploma in microelectronics or related field and has at least 5 years experience in microelectronics assembly.

    Required skills :

  • In-depth knowledge of wire bonding and die placement machinery programming
  • Thorough knowledge of microelectronics assembly materials
  • Knowledge of MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-STD-883 standards
  • Bilingual (French / English), spoken and written
  • Required Skills :

  • Work very rigorously, as required for space hardware
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Assets :

  • Knowledge of F&K Delvotec machinery
  • Microelectronics lab management skills
  • Assembly tooling design experience
