Lead the evaluation, analysis and optimization of RTG IP’s power and performance used in AMD’s discrete graphics products
Provide hardware-engineering leadership during pre-silicon planning, post-silicon bring-up, product definition and product validation, and production ramp
Engaged in the pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of the design
Lead planning activities and developing test cases and methodologies to evaluate power and performance
Develop pre-silicon models to predict and evaluate future designs
Be the link between design and physical silicon
Develop and execute feature verification, enablement and test plans for system and power management IP
Write firmware for embedded u-controllers in C, where required
Debug and analyze the performance of AMD’s IP’s in post-silicon using tools and benchmarks
Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities
Work with silicon architects and post-silicon evaluation teams to evaluate and tune the IP’s for optimal power and performance
Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and power
Strong technical background in PC systems and graphics
Strong leadership, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills are mandatory
Specific knowledge of computer architecture and workload analysis
VHDL / Verilog and C / C++ experience are assets
Good understanding of computer organization / architecture
Deep understanding of digital electronics
Understanding of Power / thermal management
Extensive laboratory experience, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Strong analytical / problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
Education / Experience
A B. Sc. or Master’s Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering
Minimum 5 years of work experience
