Position Overview :
Reporting directly to the Director Customer Fleet Performance Center, the successful candidate will be responsible to work with the Performance Center leadership team for :
Developing and implementing operational excellence strategies, processes and a team to deliver Condition Monitoring and Performance Reporting (reliability and production metrics) for our Customers Mining Fleets.
Support the strategic direction of the organization, demonstrate leadership, integrity, teamwork, quality and urgency in the performance of one’s functions and responsibilities to ensure the goals of customer satisfaction, market dominance and profitability are achieved.
The purpose of the Senior Mining Condition Monitoring Analyst (Team Lead) is to support the development and implementation of the Performance Center and provide leadership that identifies solution to support the by maximizing product performance including, fleet physical availability, fleet productivity, decrease cost per operating hour, and assist in the sales effort by differentiating our product support offering to our customers.
The objective of the Senior Condition Monitoring Analyst is to provide solutions that take a proactive approach to servicing the machine intervene before more severe problems occur by aggregating, correlating and creating Finning (Canada) customer recommendations using the 5 elements of condition monitoring in order to provide critical suggested actions to help customers lower owning and operating costs, improve availability, improve production and reduce warranty costs.
These recommendations will improve customer loyalty, increase Finning (Canada) market share, and grow parts and service sales, while reducing the customer's equipment lifecycle costs through equipment management efficiency.
5 - Elements of Condition Monitoring :
The selected candidate will also be responsible initially for working as a Condition Monitoring Analyst to develop the experience, skill and an in-
depth understanding of the software tools and processes to be able to coach and mentor others along with the processes and structure required to support continued delivery of customer solutions.
Once the Performance Center is fully operational and Condition Monitoring Analysts have been hired, the successful candidate will transition to :
Providing day-to-day leadership for the Condition Monitor Analyst’s, their delivery of customer recommendations and the quality and quantity of work
Continue to develop the protocol, processes and best practices of how we document, record and store the recommendations we have previously provided to our customers developed from the condition monitoring routines so we can retain and learn.
Assisting in recruitment and selection, orientation, coaching and mentoring, employee engagement, performance feedback and supporting growth and development opportunities.
Conducting performance conversations and providing coaching and mentoring along with regular feedback to this team will important in the development and success of the Performance Center

Build, implement and provide knowledge and leadership in the of use Finning and Cat software’s to monitor the following elements : fluid analysis, equipment inspections, electronic data, repair history and site conditions to provide relevant recommendations as indicated by the data
Aggregate and correlate the five elements of condition monitoring, where all are available
Maintains working knowledge for each of the condition monitoring five elements
Provides equipment maintenance recommendations to Finning Mining customers and Finning Key customer facing stake holders
Uses enabling software tools & systems to prioritize and analyze condition monitoring data inputs
Extracts or is provided data from the appropriate business systems including customer, dealer and contractor sources
Provides information for equipment management lead tracking and resolution
Prepares standard written reports of recommendations for customers and their Caterpillar dealers on a monthly basis
Facilitates ongoing meetings with customers and key Finning stakeholders
Communicates verbal recommendations as required to customer and key Finning stakeholders.
Builds collaborative relationships & acts as a consultant with customers, and key Finning stakeholders
Conduct performance conversations and provide regular feedback to CMA’s
Provide sales presentation to customer and Finning employees
Provide training related to software utilized by CM group to customers and Finning employees
Develop and maintain healthy KPI’s of the industry assigned and with customer account.
Develop and maintain the Fleet Performance reporting template using the key metrics that Finning’s Mining customer recognize as world class reporting
Day-to-day leadership for the Condition Monitor Analyst’s including assisting in recruitment and selection, orientation, coaching and mentoring
Improve Customer Equipment Up Time & improving customer equipment lifecycle costs
Monitor, manage, alert and report to customer and Finning stake holder
Grow the Incremental part sales & POPS - C

Specific Skills & Knowledge :
The self-motivated individual will possess mechanical aptitude coupled with Caterpillar Equipment operational and mechanical knowledge along with exceptional troubleshooting ability
Negotiation skills, and communication and presentation skills
Dedication to customer service, as well as excellent time management and independent problem solving skills will also be key to this role
Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in service and warranty (service and parts manuals, technical bulletins and other related articles)

Previous people leadership is not considered a core requirement
Knowledge of Caterpillar machine systems operation, the application and the potential for affecting product health coupled with a good understanding of the relationship between product health and maintenance strategies / commercial impact will be considered assets
Strong working knowledge of Caterpillar engines, power train, hydraulic systems, Product Link™, VIMS, inspection process, equipment lifecycle planning, Fluid Analysis Services, and the Service Information System is desired
Strong understanding of Mining equipment, including the overall operation and design.
Strong understanding of Mining maintenance and operation strategies and behaviors
Proficient in the use of basic computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. After proper instruction, be able to easily comprehend and efficiently navigate a business computer system like Vision Link, ECA and ERP (like SAP, Lawson, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of foundational elements that define condition monitoring for Caterpillar Mining equipment
Product knowledge of CAT parts, components, equipment and services offered by Finning Canada and competitors
Must have sufficient mechanical knowledge to understand repair procedures and processes, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
Sufficient basic technical, mechanical knowledge in repairing, reconditioning CAT machines preferred
Good knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs
Education & Experience :
Journey Person Red Seal certification with 5 plus years’ experience working on Caterpillar Mining fleet maintenance, management and machine reliability is preferred.
Trade school diploma, 2-year Associates degree or 4-year BA / BS degree or an Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering will be an asset
Mechanical Technologist coupled with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in reliability engineering will be an asset
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in service and / or administration in related field or equivalent technical background.
Service or parts experience at Finning or another Caterpillar dealer preferred.
Management / Supervisory / Team Lead experience required
