What is the opportunity?

We are about to embark on a multi-year, large scale transformation program and we are looking for a seasoned technology executive to drive a disciplined approach to delivery scaled agile principles with focus on clear customer value and business outcomes.

This position will head up the strategy execution office and lead the BFS Technology Transformation execution under sponsorship of VP, BFS T&O and in partnership with BFS SMT leaders.

This role will include :

  • Integrating the multiple value streams in accordance with scaled agile methodology
  • Engaging Enterprise Technology Partners to drive delivery
  • Identifying and removing organizational and political barriers to implementation
  • Managing the associated organizational change that will accompany strategy implementation
  • What will you do?

  • Responsible for delivery of program benefits to achieve overall strategic goals
  • Ensures key stakeholders actively engaged to deliver program objectives
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of critical, large scale digital platforms and / or the launch of new software products in complex environments
  • Drive the execution of the Technology strategy through implementation of the IT operating model. Oversee overall project and operational plans and budgets required to support the Technology Strategy.
  • Ensure the plan reflects business objectives and achievability. Manage the associated prioritization processes

  • Make decisions on technology path forward including technology stack, UI frameworks, infrastructure, etc.
  • Expert understanding of Scaled Agile principles and next generation delivery solution including API, Cloud and Data and track record in adoption and delivery projects
  • Distill the essence of conflicts, harmonize views, find the best way forward, and lead people to that outcome working with leadership teams across the company
  • Seek out industry trends and new technologies to better understand how, and if RBC can leverage solutions to enhance or obtain new capabilities
  • Must-haves :

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Business Certification (MBA, CSC, CFA, etc.) considered an asset
  • Understanding of different design techniques
  • Proven Facilitation Skills & Presentation Skills
  • Knowledge of multiple platforms including credit and cash management
  • IT Standards, Methodologies, CMM & audit requirements
