The plant is poised to double its capacity and the opportunity exists to replace a retiring QM and work with him to integrate with the quality team and the managment culture over the next several months.
This client will consider Quality Engineers that are demonstrably ready for advancement and also experienced Quality Managers.
As leader of the Quality team (currently 6 techs and engineers), you will manage all aspects of the Quality System to ensure compliance with both standards and customer specific requirements.
This includes implementation of quality controls, customer relations and team member training.
Maintain ISO Certifications and support the implementation of IATF 16949
Pro-actively communicate PPAP requirements and resolve customers issues / concerns
Training and development of Quality team members
Work closely with manufacturing and engineering regarding test results, continuous improvements and quality system requirements
Implement test procedures and SPC related software
Continually develop and improve the Quality Management System
Promote quality achievement and performance throughout the organization
Supervise and oversee the activities of the Quality Team through motivation and support
Prepare and communicate performance reviews
Visit suppliers and customers as required within North America and Europe
Develop and implement effective HS&E policies, procedures and employee training
Certified Quality Engineer or ASQC designation
Related University Degree
5 years related manufacturing experience as a CQE or Manager implementing quality systems and training employees, preferably in injection moulding.
Working knowledge of TS 16949 or QS 9000 quality requirements and required documentation
PPAP, 8D, CCR, FMEA, APQP, Control Plans etc.)
HS&E certification a definite asset
Su cc e ssful candidate will also have :
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train team members on quality systems and customer requirements
Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers and suppliers to effectively resolve quality issues
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent computer skills (MS Office; SPC and Tier 1 customer quality software)
Valid passport and ability to travel within North America and Europe
A valid driver’s licence is required
