RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) Innovation Lab is an in-house technology hub to incubate digital capabilities and drive innovation.

Leveraging the network of technology and innovation capabilities across RBC, the RBC GAM Innovation Lab will focus on developing and executing next-

generation initiatives to enhance the experience and outcomes of investors and advisors.

The RBC GAM Innovation Lab contributes significantly to RBC’s technology and innovation capabilities. The Lab partners closely with the established community of RBC experts in digital technology, analytics and machine learning as it develops tools for RBC GAM’s retail and institutional businesses, enhances RBC GAM’s investment capabilities and further strengthens RBC GAM’s ability to work effectively with advisors.

What is the opportunity?

A Senior Business Systems Analyst assesses, analyzes and redefines system scope based on user needs and the industry requirements.

Works with complex information systems and develops or modifies existing systems through analysis of business and user needs.

Will be responsible for reviewing system capacity, limitation, delivery and results. Job mandate is small to large development or maintenance projects (multiple projects -

  • one application with multiple interfaces and / or 3rd parties). Performs complex design analysis, research alternative approaches and perform cost / benefit / risk analysis;
  • performs the highest level of systems analysis and acts as a consultant to the business and other Systems Analysts. Responsible for translating the analysis and system logic difficulties into proper system requirement specifications.

    Will possess full technical knowledge of most phases of systems analysis and is able to correctly consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.

    What will you do?

  • Assess detailed business requirements and recommend business solutions that satisfy sponsor / stakeholder needs, continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients
  • Lead and facilitate working sessions and business interviews to achieve clarity on business objectives
  • Assists with prioritizing developmental requests
  • Assess and analyze sponsor / stakeholder needs in accordance with Project Life Cycle methodology utilizing reporting tools, requirements gathering methodologies, process models, data models and prototypes
  • Business Requirements documentation, analysis, specifications, development support and testing
  • Works with developers, vendor consultants and numerous data sources to gather data requirements and mapping specifications.
  • Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of the data mapping specifications and testing activities.

  • Addresses and clarifies specifications for business partners on data mapping related issues. Manages data acquisition and data mapping activities
  • What do you need to succeed?

  • Able to digest modern requirements such as set of Use Case Documents (UCD) and Data Dictionary
  • By using BSA’s UML wizardry, one should be able to translate requirements to respective UML artifacts to facilitate precise and concise communication with both onshore architects and offshore developers
  • Must have extensive knowledge in UML methods, diagram and notations
  • Experience in multiple platforms and solutions would be necessary
  • Able to guide QA / Test Lead while test plans and test strategies are formulated
  • Attention to details, awareness to alternate course of actions in addition to basic course of actions in Use Case Document are especially important in Solution Analysis and Design
  • Take into account of Restrictions and limitations of Upstream and Downstream system
  • Provide Traceability in Solution Design throughout the entire project lifecycle
