We are looking for a Mechanical Test Technologist to be responsible for building test stations and machine assembly, performing mechanical testing, operating test stations, maintaining lab and test equipment.
The position requires safety training and hands-on experience in a laboratory environment. The ability to collect, sort, and analyze test data will be advantageous.
The position requires a basic understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and machine design.
Key Responsibilities :
Designing basic mechanical parts
Preparing specifications and drawings for mechanical components, equipment and systems
Inspecting the construction of mechanical parts and installation
Preparing layouts for new machines, tool designs, plants and equipment
Specifying parts for laboratory scale pilot tests
Maintaining test equipment
Operating pilot-size electrical and gas fired boilers
Handling gas supply and cylinders
Performing basic control strategies
Operating PLC and Labview control and data acquisition systems
Calibrating instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature measurement and control
Technologist in Mechanical Engineering or related field from technical institutes and colleges
At least 2 years in the mechanical testing field
Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings
Good sketching or drawing skills
Good mathematics and mechanical problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Proficiency in Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Good oral and written communication skills
Fluency in English
