Role Summary :

The Brighter Way is an innovative management system based on Lean principles that we've been introducing at Sun Life so we can continue to put the voice of the customer at the heart of everything we do.

The Senior Lean Solutions Consultant leads transformation and improvement to enhance customer service and eliminate waste through value stream and management system designs.

You are a results-oriented, proven contributor with a track record of leading projects to design and implement process improvements that deliver measurable and sustainable results.

Main Accountabilities : :

  • Assess the performance and capability of processes and operational groups
  • Identify opportunities and champion proposals for improvement
  • Design efficient and effective process solutions
  • Manage the controlled deployment of process and operational changes
  • Conduct Kaizen events and facilitate problem solving sessions with operations teams
  • Lead project management activities including planning, scheduling, governance, and execution to successful completion, including maintaining full documentation of the project lifecycle
  • Deliver BWMS across Corporate and Enterprise Services, including :
  • diagnose, scope and plan for the deployment of the BWMS;
  • collaborate on the customization and improvement of the core components of the BWMSto support high performance at SLF;
  • deploy best practices related to Lean management tools and routines to support the execution of the BWMS such as using Voice of the Customerreporting, process mapping, waste identification tools, aligned key performance indicatormetrics, workflow boards, Gemba activity, process confirmations, problem solving tools, capacity management tools as well as continuous improvement activities; and
  • support process confirmations and ongoing consultations required to maintain BWMS certifications and overall BWMS effectiveness throughout SLF
  • Partner with Centre of Excellencepeers to share and build Lean Sigma knowledge and skills to create a common approach to embed and sustain practice standards
  • Be a consistent and strong contributor to the Lean Solutions team by providing continuous improvement ideas for improving our own productivity and management practices
  • Commit to self-development towards mastery of Lean Six Sigmapractices, tools and methodologies, project management principles and industry knowledge
  • Qualifications :

  • Creates and maintains strong relationships across the organization at all levels
  • Education and Experience :

  • University Degree in business or related field and / or 7+ years of relevant management experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Formal training in Lean / Lean Six Sigma preferred, including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and other Lean disciplines connected with cross functional team leadership of business improvements;
  • LMS and / or LSS Black Belt certifications preferred

  • Demonstrated analytical, facilitation and change management skills, along with experience managing complex process improvement projects
  • Hands-on knowledge and application of Lean, Six Sigma, CMMI / ITIL or other relevant process improvement methodologies preferred
  • Expert level knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS VISIO
