The Lab Chemists within the Sample Preparation, Extraction, Cleanup, LC and Technical Groups as well as the Lab Scheduler report to the Lab Supervisor.
They are collectively accountable for the scheduling, preparation, extraction, separation, and clean up of environmental and industrial samples.
Recording accurate and complete routine data on work-up sheets to provide a complete legal history of the samples.
Following correct methods and procedures to provide quality output and ensure Axys maintains its related accreditations.
Controlling sample integrity to ensure accuracy of analyzed routine samples.
Maintaining a clean lab environment to preserve the integrity of samples.
Constantly practicing prescribed safety methods to prevent injury and illness in the work place.
Adhering to the expectations outlined in AXYS’s Code of Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc. Or Technical Diploma in Chemistry or related science.
Strong computer skills (Excel, MS Word, Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve common goals and objectives.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Highly organized, self motivated and energetic.
Strong time management and troubleshooting skills.
Willingness to participate in flexible work schedules (including evenings and weekends.
