You are part of a project team, responsible for the customization, implementation, and support of GIRO’s software in order to meet the specific needs of our clients in Australian and Asian markets.

To contribute to its growth and leading position in its field, GIRO is looking for a talented professional to work in Australia, preferably in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

Our clients in Australia and Asia include public-transit organizations and private transit operators in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Dubaï, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide functional and technical support for clients both on-site and remotely; the analyst acts as first level of support.
  • Support the project team in Montreal.
  • Prepare and deliver training to clients.
  • Support clients in various project tasks (following developments, data manipulation / importation, usage of application, troubleshooting, etc.).
  • Document clients’ business processes.
  • Visit clients to obtain specifications, conduct project management, and deliver on-site support.
  • Write system specifications or other project-related documents (e.g. describing new features being developed for a project).
  • Propose functional solutions, evaluate their impacts and ensure their application.
  • Prepare high-level functional analysis to guide implementation.
  • Design test cases and perform testing on clients’ solutions.
  • Ensure the planned deadlines and budgets are respected.
  • Keep track of project administration.
  • Support marketing activities (client visits, system demonstrations, industry events, etc.).
  • Desired profile

  • University degree or equivalent education in an appropriate field (computer science, software engineering, industrial engineering, operations research, mathematics).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in software development and / or systems analysis.
  • Knowledge of Windows® and relational databases (Oracle and SQL).
  • Analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Capacity to communicate with various stakeholders (internal / external, decision-makers / operational staff).
  • Availability to travel regularly within Australia, Dubaï, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and occasionally to Canada for training.
  • Ability to communicate in English (written and spoken), knowledge of another language, especially French, is an asset.
  • Experience in project management is an asset.
  • Experience in the field of public transportation is an asset especially in utilizing a scheduling and daily operation management software.
