  • Vancity is looking for an experienced communications consultant with deep subject matter expertise in the environment.

    You are well versed in communications planning, execution, measurement and analysis. Your comms plans are grounded in a thorough situational analysis, supported by research.

    You use data to set baselines and measure the success of campaigns and strategies.

    You’re a great project manager, can mobilize people from different teams to work collaboratively, and have experience working with external advertising and PR agencies, graphic designers, videographers and other contractors.

    You have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and can produce content for a variety of channels. You have experience working on environmental campaigns, are networked in B.

    C.’s environmental community, understand key drivers of environmental behavior change, and how crucial environmental performance is to an organization’s reputation and bottom line.

    Key areas of accountability for this role are :

  • Provide strategic and comprehensive communications advice, resources, and tactics to managers and project leads that enable achievement of project / program objectives.
  • Develop and implement communications plans and tactics to support organizational goals.
  • Identify, analyze and address client, stakeholder and audience communication needs.
  • Advise and support Vancity issues management to mitigate potential reputational risk.
  • Monitor, measure, and report effectiveness of communication strategies against established project / program objectives in order to propose modifications to improve outcomes.

    Education :

  • Communications or journalism degree or diploma, plus 7-10 years’ experience working in a similar field.
  • Experience :

  • Advanced Program Management, Publication Managerment, Report Writing and Strategic Communications Planning.
  • Advanced written & verbal communications.
  • Intermediate Digital Communications, Media Relations, Reputation Management, Social Media, and proven ability to Multi-task.
